Fee Schedules | NJIT Tuition

The NJIT Tuition and Fees for the 2019-2020 academic year were adopted by the NJIT Board of Trustees on Thursday July 18, 2019.  The Schedule of NJIT Tuition and Fees has been carefully reviewed and has been subject of a public hearing as required by Law prior to the approval by NJIT's Board of Trustees. All fees are mandatory for Full-Time and Part-Time students and are considered non-negotiable. 
New Jersey Institute of Technology reserves the right to revise its charges for NJIT tuition and fees and to establish fees as may be required by increased educational costs. njit Tuition includes charges for services other than instruction, such as library, publications, counseling, placement, but does not cover the cost of damage to or loss of university property. The state of New Jersey mandates sales tax for commuting students parking on campus.  Fees provide funds for the operation of health services, student services and activities, inter-collegiate athletics, and various facilities and services. University Fee Description
The ‘University Fee’ is charged to students enrolled in college-credit courses at NJIT Tuition. The University fee is assessed at $184 per credit hour rate for students taking less than 12 credits per semester and is capped for full-time students (12-19 credits) at the flat rate of $1,558 per semester. Over 19 credits are assessed at a per-credit rate. 
For summer and winter sessions, the University Fee is assessed to all students at a flat rate of $189/190. The purpose of this fee is to continue to help support a portion of the costs associated with an array of varied, but integral services and projects that directly affect our students. 
Some of these important areas include Overall support of our Student Health Services Office which offers treatment to currently enrolled students for acute illnesses, urgent care situations, and certain health promotion needs. 
The Campus Center, which organizes and promotes signature social events on campus, enriching campus life through community building and tradition. 
Providing support for expansion and upgrades to computer labs and academic technology needs.  Supporting a portion of debt service to fund recently constructed, or on-going renovations to existing buildings Admissions, student services, career services, and an array of academic, student, and athletics programs.
Liability for Charges
A student who registers for a course is liable for all NJIT Tuition and fees. Receipt of a properly completed withdrawal notice by the Registrar's Office will affect the amount of refund, if any, to be issued. The Office of the Bursar is responsible for the collection of all payments.
SUMMER/WINTER NOTES:
During the summer & winter sessions there is a flat fee of $189/$190 (2019-2020) in lieu of the fees noted above. Full-time NJIT Tuition rates do not apply during the summer/winter sessions.
Fees for students who are taking courses via Distance Learning, at Extension sites or in Certificate programs will be applied to administrative and technological expenses directly associated with these program.
